Roll of Honour (de Ruvigny) Vol II, Sect 2, p239: son of Capt Charles Joshua Wilshire 3(Vol)Bn, Sherwood Foresters, FSAA; born Derby 31/12/1889; educ Diocesan Sch & Municipal Tech Sch, Derby; enlisted 3 SF 28/9/14; transf LF July 1915; to Gallipoli as CSM; ret UK 1916 having been some weeks in hospital in Alexandria; transf MGC and app Sgt Instructor; subs posted Cadet Bn; gazetted 2Lt 26/9/17; ret France to 95 Coy MGC; took part in several engagements and transf to Italy, ret France 6/4/18 and was KIA on 14/4/18. Buried Mil Cem at Morbecque. He married at Heanor 23/9/14 Cicely, d. of (-) Eley and had a daughter, Joyce Mary b 20/12/15.

Morbecque British Cemetery - Nord, France.;
