Description (What the record is about)

The chapel and schoolroom were erected in 1835. The day school was established in 1843 and ceased in 1909 and the Sunday school ceased in 1944. The school transferred to the council school on Doncaster Road, the building was sold in 1913. Records comprising:
1. Financial Papers 1896-1936: Including, Trustees treasurer's book 1896-1936, Promissory note for payment made to Mrs Lucy Wilson (widow) of Silkstone Common 1906 etc;
2. Mortgages 1910: Equitable mortgage between trustees of Doncaster Road chapel and the Primitive Methodist chapel Aid Association February 1910;
3. Insurances 1898-1913: Comprising, Insurance policies, 1898, 1913;
4. Correspondence: miscellaneous correspondence 19th-20th century;
5. Plans 1912;
6. Certificates 1860.
