Description

A demise was to be made under the seal of the Hospital or the Corporation to Mr. Joseph Critchley, the Macebearer, that he might be the nominal plaintiff in the ejectment which was to be done as Mr. Thomas Brock, Town Clerk, advised at the cost of the Corporation.

If the owners of lands adjoining the highway from Cowgate or Cowlane Gate towards Flookersbrook would allow their ditches and drains to be opened a conveyance should be made at the direction of Mr. John Lawton, Mr. John Thomas and Alderman Ellames, the younger, within six months to carry off the filth and rubbish usually washed into the same, being offensive to passengers when stagnant because of the compost from many slaughter houses. The Treasurer was to pay Mr. Lawton £5. 5s. towards the same if the cost was £10. 10s. or more or half what the landowners and others interested should expend.
