Ts letters, reports, articles and orders relating to his service with the Kings African Rifles, 1935 - 1958, including papers from his period with 2nd Battalion, KAR in Nyasaland and British Somaliland, 1935 - 1938 and 1939 - 1940, where his battalion saw action against the Italian Army in Somaliland in August 1940, and in the Abyssinian Campaign as a Staff Officer and later Brigade Major of 26th (East African) Infantry Brigade, March 1941 - October 1942, particularly the Gondar Operations, November 1941, in Burma as Commanding Officer of the 11th (Kenya) Battalion, KAR 25th (EA) Infantry Brigade, 11th (EA) Division, July - December 1944, and finally as Commanding Officer of 70th Infantry Brigade (KAR) in operations against the Mau Mau in Kenya, August 1955 - August 1958; together with newspaper cuttings re the KAR.
