File of correspondence (February 1951 - July 1951, and October 1960) between The Rep and Ibbs And Tillett, musical and concert agents concerning the visit of The Salzburg Marionettes to The Rep in July 1951. Includes letters on stage requirements and measurements, lodgings, programme proofs, details of works to be performed during the performance, exemption tax, fees, singing and dancing licences, also with publicity photos. October 1960 correspondence concerns Salzburg Marionettes tour and the possibility of another appearance at The Rep (which did not happen because of the fee being asked for).

Layton including typed copies of 'Getting Ready', 'Fish And Chips', 'Feathered Philosophy', 'Nursery Fantasies', 'The Invalid', 'The Stranger', 'The Little Pigeon'; and short story 'Alphonse' printed in The London Magazine; with letter from the Midlands office of the BBC (03 July 1933) about the Columbia Gramophone Company making test records of 'The Invalid' and 'Getting Ready' and the edits required for this, with follow up letter (12 July 1933) noting that the recording went well and that the BBC is waiting for Columbia's report; typed MS of story 'The Green Circle' by Stephen Andrew [aka Layton], Ablewith Street, Walsall [see also Layton material at MS 978/6/15-16].

Copy typed text of article 'Birmingham Rep - 10 Years On' written by Eileen Totten for ' Warwickshire And Worcestershire Life' (August 1981) - includes quote from director Clive Perry: 'I'd like to see the new Rep taking into consideration the Old Rep - actually using the old theatre for short seasons, and as a museum to house the archives. I want to make sure the Old Rep is not forgotten, and for people to see the history and work of the Birmingham rep in both its houses. That will be my next artistic priority when funds are available.'
