Mersham

Part of highway from Ashford-Hythe turnpike, to Quarrington Farm, from south-west garden wall of Mersham Hatch, belonging to Sir Edward Knatchbull, baronet, by the side of the paddock and park, to the gate across the road at the bottom of the park, 176 rods [968 yards] long, being narrow and circuitous, to be diverted to new line through lands of Sir Edward Knatchbull, from the turnpike road at the pinnock near Brett's Quarry to the highway leading to parishes of Brook and Wye at west corner Quarrington Wood, 279 rods [1,534½ yards] long, 15 feet wide, and to another new line through lands of Sir E. Knatchbull from the above proposed road at west corner of Mill Field to Quarrington Farm and into the highway to West Brabourne, 138 rods [759 yards] long, 15 feet wide.

Order: at Saracen's Head Inn, Ashford, 7 December 1822, with plan (scale: 20 ins. to mile) surveyed by Thomas Thurston, Ashford.
