Between the 1950's and 1970's Joe Bryson of Merseyside acquired a large and varied collection of business records and ephemera. In 1977 he sold his collection to Merseyside County Archives. In April 1986 the Merseyside County Museums became the National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside. The Archives Department of the Museums has continued the work of sorting and listing the Bryson Collection. Documents which have no connection with Liverpool have been distributed to record offices in other parts of the country with permission to forward elsewhere if appropriate. Two documents from the Bryson Collection (ACC/3420/2, ACC/3420/6) were forwarded to the Greater London Record Office by the Surrey Record Office on 17 August 1994. The other four documents listed overleaf form part of a consignment of five boxes of documents sent to the Greater London Record Office in 1994 by the National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside for sorting and distribution to local record repositories in London (ACC/3584). They were accessioned and listed in September 1995.
