Two photographs (b/w) "presented by Col Schomberg" (see envelope), with captions on the back as follows: (1) "Military despot Ma Tei Ti and his youngest son at Kashgar circa 1923 (he was executed by orders of Yang Tas To in August 1924)"; (2) "Turkis of Kashgar mutilated for misdemeanours circa 1923-4". In addition, there is a small envelope in which the photographs were originally placed.
