Ts. memoir (34pp photocopy) describing his service as a Captain with the 2/26th Battalion, 8th Australian Division AIF August 1941-August 1945 including: his attachment to the Johore Military Forces (August 1941-January 1942); the fighting in Johore and on Singapore; his experiences as a prisoner of war at Selarang, Adam Park, Fourth Avenue and Havelock Road Camps on Singapore (February 1942-May 1943); his experiences as a prisoner of war in H Force on the Burma-Thailand Railway (May-August 1943, Tonchan South), in Thailand (August-November 1943, Kanchanaburi) and on Singapore (November 1943-August 1945, Sime Road and Changi Gaol). The account gives brief but useful details on conditions, pastimes, entertainments and improvisations on each camp and mentions contact with Italian POWs in Sime Road.
