Description

Letter from J.P. to W.P.G. stating that the question raised by the purchaser as to his not being liable for the debts as they stood on 2 June is waived. In addition, in about the middle of May the purchasers asked for detailed particulars of the Book-debts, a statement of which is enclosed, showing the surplus to be £2661.5.10. His offer of 2 June was based upon that. He also encloses a statement of 3 June showing a net result close to that of 2 June. However this result is obtained by the introduction of "cash in hand, Coalport & London", the result of the receipts on account of Book-debts during the intervening period. Thus Mr Bruff claims to have the benefit of this. The settlement of the question alone delays completion.
