Description

The information provided (in Latin until 1733) includes the names of those entering the caveat, its subject and the place concerned; entries relating to licences usually state the person whose death created a vacancy. Entered in the margin is the name of the deceased in cases of probate and administration, and of the place in cases of the grant of licences. Caveats were received from the entire diocese where licences were concerned, but for the grant of probate and administration from the archdeaconry of Chester only.
