Photographs relating to the trawler HMS Bedfordshire built in 1935 and sunk off the coast of North Carolina while on convoy escort duty on the night of 11/12 May 1942 (see Beds Magazine XXI page 87 and Z 940/28 for a fuller account). Z 940/1-22 are black and white copy prints from original snapshots while Z 940/23-26 are colour photographs.
