Administrative / biographical background

St Peter's church, at the junction of Grove Lane and Arthur Rd, Handsworth, was designed by F.B. Osborn. It was consecrated in 1907 and in the same year a parish was assigned to it out of St. James's, Handsworth and St. Michael's, Handsworth, the living being established as a vicarage in the gift of the bishop. The church became redundant in 1977.
