A collection belonging to Mr. Thomas Tunnicliffe was born in Styal c.1915. His maternal grandparents were from Styal (the Taylors) while the Tunnicliffes lived in Hadforth.
He was born in Oak Cottage, Styal, where his mother and grandmother had also lived, and attended Oak School.
He moved from Styal c.1950.
