Original Letters (121) of Alexander Pope to Edward Harley, 2nd Earl of Oxford; 6 Feb, 1721[2]-25 Dec, 1739. Two of the letters (ff.23, 28) are merely covers. Followed by eleven undated letters to the same (f.255), and by autograph verses "occasiond by Cibbers verses in praise of Nash" (f.258). Printed in Elwin's "Works of A. Pope", 1871, etc., vol. VIII. pp.186-320. Inserted at f.209 is a letter to Pope from R[obert] Dodsley, the bookseller, 8 May, 1734, enclosing for his criticism verses addressed to Lady Margaret Harley on her marriage to the Duke of Portland.
