Description

Description:

- Construction of a line from Cambridge to Ipswich to join the Felixstowe Railway and Dock Company's line.

Railway No. 1

- Construction of a line from the Cambridge to Ely line in the parish of St. Andrew the Less, Cambridge near Coldham's Lane level crossing, and forming a junction with railway No. 2 in the parish of Teversham, and from there commencing a line to Ipswich.

Railway No. 2

- Line leaving the Cambridge to Huntingdon line in the parish of Chesterton and joining railway No. 1 in Teversham.

Railway No. 3

- Junction line between Line No. 1 and the G.E.R. line from Stowmarket to Ipswich.

Passing through the following parishes:

Railway No. 1

- St. Andrew the Less in Cambridge, Teversham, Fen Ditton, Little Wilbraham, Carlton, Weston Colville, Brinkley, Burrough Green, (all co. Cambridgeshire).

- Great Bradley, Little Bradley, Cowlinge, Straddishall, Wickhambrook, Denston, Stansfield, Hawkedon, Somerton, Boxstead, Hartest, Stanstead, Shimpling, Alpheaton, Long Melford, Lavenham, Brent Eleigh, Monks Eleigh, Milden, Chelsworth, Bildeston, Wattisham, Gt. Bricett, Offton-cum-Little Bricett, Nettlestead, Somersham, Little Blakenham, Bramford, Claydon, Akenham, Whitton-cum-Thurleston, Westerfield, St. Margarets in Ipswich, (all co. Suffolk).

Railway No. 2

- Chesterton, St. Andrew the Less (Cambridge), Fen Ditton, Teversham, (all co. Cambridgeshire).

Railway No. 3

- Bramford (co. Suffolk).

Comprising:

- Plans and sections: 47 sheets, each 22 x 30 (2 copies).

- Ordnance Survey map, scale: 1 inch to 1 mile.

- Book of reference. (a number of Suffolk pages missing).

- Printed summary of bill.

Scales:

- Plans and sections: Horizontal- 3 chains (66 yards) to 1 inch; Vertical- 60 feet to 1 inch.

- Cross section: Horizontal- 5 chains (110 yards) to 1 inch; Vertical- 40 feet to 1 inch.

Engineer: Arthur S. Hamand, Westminster.
