Contract No.6/ENG/6567/CB.12(b). Performance tests on a Sapphire 6 have already been carried out on the Lancastrian aircraft and the results of these test have been issued. Due to the aircraft's limitations, these tests were restricted to 30,000 ft altitude and about .35 Mach numbers in airspeed, so a series of tests on a similar engine has been carried out in the Canberra up to airspeeds of .75 Mach numbers and altitudes up to 54,000 ft
