Henry Middecoat of Tregony, maltster; pleaded guilty to assault: fined 6d.

George Williams, carpenter, and John Trezise, jun., tinner, both of St Just in Penwith; acquitted of assault for want of prosecution.

Thomas Powell of St Tudy, labourer; pleaded guilty to stealing a fighting cock, value 2d., from Sir Christopher Treise, on condition he be allowed to enlist in Royal Navy: to be taken to Plymouth Dock to enlist.

Richard Worth of St Tudy; indicted for receiving the above cock, knowing it to be stolen: to be discharged from his recognizance, and his indictment to be quashed for insufficiency.

Mary Williams of St Allen, single woman; convicted of stealing a gown, value 6d., from Ann Chigwidden: 1 month's hard labour in bridewell.

Details of the contract for major repairs to Respryn bridge by Nicholas Philp of Lostwithiel, mason, for £65: approved.

Surveyor (west) to repair pavement of St Erth bridge.

Messrs Call and Forster reported that new jail was finished and ready to receive prisoners. Contractor discharged from his contract, and all papers and accounts delivered to Clerk of the Peace.

Parish of Helland pleaded guilty to not repairing its highways: fined £12.

A further £650 to be borrowed in connection with the new jail at Bodmin; one jail rate and one gaol and marshalsea rate to be levied, to be paid to Samuel Hext, gent., Vice-Treasurer.

One bridge rate to be levied and paid to John Truscott, gent., Surveyor (west).

Mr Thomas Mounsteven to be paid £10 9s. 10d. for clothing the prisoners, and for advertisements.
