Discussions at Leighton Buzzard, with Mary Brooks & elsewhere about beginning the shop. - Nanny's wages should be £5 p.a. with board, & certainly no more than £10, which is as much as is given to a complete shop maid. Thos. Walduck suggests their taking his daughter Patty as an assistant later, The brother of Wm. Joyce's wife would probably help in buying & accounting. - About painting and whitewashing the house: The doors are to be chocolate & the dining room stone colour. - I saw yesterday an account of the arrival of a ship at the Cape Coast. am in daily expectation of some news of Bostock, hope it will be good.
