Folios 479-480. Letter from Charles Wright, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board, regarding Martha Ewen age 17, a pauper child leaving the Workhouse to go into service. The guardians request the Board to sanction the sum of £2 10s to provide her with a suitable set of clothes.
'Proposal of service for a pauper child maintained in the Union Workhouse' form. The pauper is Martha Ewen age 17 and she last lived at East Dereham. She had lived in the workhouse for 16 years. It is proposed that she works for Joseph Whiterod, Farmer, Garvestone.
