Description

Being A Set of Copper Plate Engravings calculated to ornament all quarto and octavo editions of The Bible, and sold in parts without The Text, engraved by Isaac Taylor [(1759-1829)] after the designs of Isaac Taylor, junr., Parts 2 and 3.

Each part contains 10 plates, with descriptions of the illustrations [written by a Mr Macquin]. Pasted into Part 2 is a lengthy printed advertisement, London 1 Nov 1813, for Part 1 and outlining the format of the whole projected work. [Part 2 and 3 were published in 1814 and 1815 respectively by Boydell & Co of Cheapside, but the whole work (including engravings by Isaac Taylor and several other engravers, after the designs of Isaac Taylor, junr.) was finally published in 1820 by Hurst, Robinson and Co]
