Gallantry Notes: Commanded isolated tank in action on morning of November 18th 1916. He remained in action for two hours under close fire from machine guns, trench mortars and bombers, out of touch with our own troops, and inflicted losses on the enemy. He continued to fight his tank after two of his crew were wounded, and only returned to our lines in order to undertake a fresh attack in cooperation with the infantry.
