The Administrative Committee of the Board of Governors was formed following the unification of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners and Queen Anne's Bounty into a single body inheriting the powers, duties, rights and priviliges of these formerly separate bodies under the Church Commissioners Measure, 1947. The committee was chaired by the Third Church Estates Commissioner, consisting of the three Church Estates Commissioners, not more than four commissioners (appointed by the Board), and four others not already on Estates and Finance Committee. The Board of Governors passed to the Administrative Committee business not sent to the Estates and Finance Committee. The Administrative Committee was replaced by the Houses and Pastoral Committees after 1964.
