Typed copy of speech [by Reer Admiral G.S. Ritchie] at the opening of the Challenger Centenary, Edinburgh 1972.
Map labelled 'Limin Moudhrou, from Admiralty Surveys 1835 to 1916, with additions and corrections to 1958.'

'The Royal Naval Surveying Service, 1920-1960' by Vice-Admiral Sir Archibald Day, 1972. Photocopy of [publication] 'subsequently withdrawn from circulation' - Dyde letter 22/10/1991. 104 pp plus foreword and two indices.
'The bogus surveyor....' by 'Whitewash'. Photocopy of typescript, about 20 pages (some cut into short sections). Annotated: 'To Sub Lt [Ian] [Chris] How RMNVR from Captain C.C. Lowry R.N. with best regards.'
**8 Surveyor's workbooks, six with dark blue covers, unlabelled, two buff with red binding, with 'Workbook for Navigating Officers of H.M. Ships' printed on the cover and labelled 'B.S. Dyde'. These are labelled on the flyleaves as follows:
1: B.S. Dyde/H.M.S Vidal 17.4.59 to 20.8.60/ school of Military Survey 20.9.60 to 10.2.61. 2: B.S. Dyde / H.M.S Cook / 20.3.61 to 29.6.62. This workbook contains astronomical observations for the position of a geodetic station on the Island of Arorae in the then Gilbert Islands, made in June 1962, using theodolite, tables and hand-operated calculator.
3: B.S. Dyde / H.M.S Cook / 26.6.62 to 20.8.62 / H.M.S Scott / 1.10.62 to 29.3.64. -- 4:: B.S. Dyde / H.M.S. Dampier /May, 1964 - February 1965.
5: B.S. Dyde / H.M.S Dampier / March 1965 - December 1965 / H.M.S Hydra / May 1966- December 1966.
6: B.S. Dyde / H.M.S Hydra / Feb. 1967 -July 1967. This book contains loose, one sheet of paper and one of card with rough calculations, and a supply voucher for charts, 22/5/67.
