William Gill Hare of Kettlesing, Felliscliffe, was born in 1836. He was later a farmer of 20 acres and a Justice of the Peace
Charles George Milnes, born 1842, was MP for the Morley division of the West Riding of Yorkshire 1885-1892. He was instrumental in the establishment of the public park in Wakefield to commemorate the marriage of the Duke of York to Princess Victoria Mary of Teck.
