An English exercise-book, filled with notes, decorated with glittering Chinese transfers on the upper cover and on the inside of the lower cover. 18 leaves, with some versos containing text. Interspersed with the itinerary are substantial field notes, especially at:
[f. 2v] 28 April. Dinner with Lao Tian of the Kwar Wung Province Revolutionary Committee
[f. 8r-v] [date and occasion unclear]
And from the back:
[f. 14v-12v] 11 May. Wuhan Sewing Machine Factory
