Description (What the record is about)
-
The following accounts from merchants were put in order by Thomas Lane (up to 1823), From 1793 to 1803 he left them in annual bundles, often with his notes and calculations on a scrap of paper, each of which is treated here as a unit; from 1803 to 1823 they were found in one continuous sequence, and this, too, has been maintained. Accounts after 1823 are in chronological order.
