Thomas Baker was the second son of John Baker, (KIR/1), and brother of Michael Baker, who is not represented by documents. By his will of 11 Sept 1584 (PCC 26 Spencer) his father left his Buxted estate (including Totheis manor which had been conveyed to him by Robert Woody by fine in 1562) to Thomas Baker who was also residuary legatee of the Battle estate; the Mayfield estate passed to Michael Baker as his father's eldest son. Thomas's daughter Priscilla was found to be a lunatic by an inquisition on 7 Nov 1638, (SRS 14.69) which recites Thomas' will (PCC 118 Lee) and death
