Description (What the record is about)
-
These volumes and loose sheet manuscripts formed part of the library of the Willoughby family, as formerly held at Wollaton Hall, Nottinghamshire. The University's original typescript catalogue of the late 1940s described these very briefly, in one-line entries. A number of the items have been the subject of extensive research and are more fully described in the following three reference sources. This finding aid incorporates some material from these sources and refers readers to them for more detail, using the abbreviations indicated here.
