Description: This item comprises copies of enclosures to a despatch from the Government of Bombay Secret Department to the Secret Committee, Number 86 of 1847, dated 13 October 1847. The enclosures are dated 24 September-9 October 1847. The item comprises a letter from the Secretary to the Government of India with the Governor-General to the Secretary to the Government, Bombay, acknowledging the opinion of the Governor of Bombay in Council that aid should be afforded to the 'Chief' of Bahrein [Bahrain] against a number of his 'disaffected subjects' who have settled upon the Island of Kenn [Kish] on the Persian [Iranian] coast and who 'threaten to make an incursion into that Chief's territories' (f 255). Also included is a minute of the Governor and a member in Council confirming that the matter has been reported to the Secret Committee.
