ff.3-13. Presentments. Including on f.12 Steven ?Hollynbery' and Ralph Wright, Churchwardens of St. Oswalds, for not seeing that the churchyard was kept clean.

f.14. Indictment that Isabel Selbe of Chester, spinster, on 17 September 1552 stole 2 cows and 2 calves in Chester worth 4 marks from Thomas Chauntrell' of Dunham, Cheshire. Billa vera. Not guilty.

f.15. Indictment that John Heylyn of Chester, baker, and Richard Heyleyn of the same, baker, sons of Henry Heylyn of the same, baker, on 5 April 1552 on the instruction of Henry Heylyn made an assault of Thomas Barnes son of Thomas Barnes of Chester, yeoman, and on John Radford, the younger, servant of Thomas Barnes the elder, and took 2 cows, which the said Henry had found in an orchard at Chester, as far as the Kings park in Chester called le Pynfold. Endorsed: Billa vera for trespass.

Indictment that Stephen ?Gwatton alias Watton of Chester, carpenter, on 20 January, 1552/3, stole from the house of John Newhall in Chester, one man's garment (unam togam virilem) worth 20s., 2 ?Cardynges beds worth £3.6s.8d., 7 ?covers called 'flexon shetes' worth 46s.8d, one ?cover called 'a canvassshete' worth 2s., 2 'bordeclothes' worth 13s.4d., 3 towels' worth 10s., one shirt called a 'shorte' worth 6s.8d. and ?20 'table napekyns' worth 13s.4d. Joan Gwatton, housewife, wife of the said Stephen was also indicted for receiving the same. Billa Vera for Stephen Watton. To Sessions 16 April 1553. Partially illegible.
