Description

Valuation lists describing property and land in Newhaven parish, compiled initially in order to calculate tithe rents and land tax. Under the Union Assessment Act 1862 new lists were compiled which formed the basis for calculating the poor rate.

The volumes listed here contain the name of the owner, occupier, a description of the land or property and a valuation figure. Most of the volumes also contain supplemental valuations and notices of objection.
