Concerns: the rumour that Mr Poole is likely to stand in Derby and his meeting in the Virgins Inn; the elections in Derby and Nottingham and Mr Stanhope and Lord Duncannon coming into the town together; the logistics of who should meet whom and where in order to gather support and votes; Sir Harvey Harpur being very ill; requesting Lord Hartington to contact Mr Pelham and also see Jack Simpson; that there will be a poll and Mr W. Turner will be against them; requesting Lord Hartington to get Lord Chesterfield to write to him immediately regarding opposition to Mr Poole. Written from Derby. Signed 'Devonshire'.
