Records of Belper Magistrates Court (formerly Petty Sessional District) from 1829. The area covered by the Court includes Alderwasley, Ambergate, Belper, Coxbench, Crich, Duffield, Hazlewood, Heage, Holbrook, Kilburn, Milford, Shottle, Turnditch and Windley.
These records were deposited in the Record Office by 1) the Clerk to the Magistrates of Belper Petty Sessional Division in December 1963, 2) the Clerk to Alfreton Magistrates Court in July 1978, 3) the Deputy Clerk to Ilkeston Magistrates Court in May 1987 and 4) the Clerk to Buxton Magistrates Court in February 1990, under Section 4(1) of the 1958 Public Record Act.
