Salt duties
David George, master, and John George, mate of the sloop 'The Vigoe' of Cardigan stated on oath that on 8 and 9 Aug. last they shipped at Liverpool 3,080 bushels of British fishery salt to carry it to St. Agnes on account of James Stephens, fish curer. The vessel sailed from Liverpool on 24 Aug. and ran into stormy weather. 28 bushels of salt were lost: Collector of Excise to cancel bond in respect of lost salt.
John Colman Rashleigh, esq., requested to take the chair at next sessions.

Salt duties
Thomas Tuck, master, and Daniel Lane, mate, of the brig 'The Beaver' of Bideford said on oath that on 19 Aug. last they shipped 2,800 bushels of British fishery salt to carry it to St. Ives on account of Andrew Stephens of St. Ives, fish curer. They left Liverpool on 1 Sep. last and ran into stormy weather, taking in water and losing 186 bushels 40lbs. of salt: Collector of Excise to cancel bond.

Richard Williams, master, and Henry Ellis, master, [sic] of the brig 'Elizabeth' of Pwllhely [sic], said on oath that on 6 and 9 Aug. last they shipped at Liverpool 4,194 bushels and 42lbs. of British fishery salt to carry it to Portreath. They left Liverpool on 22 Aug. but ran into stormy weather, taking in water, and losing 239 bushels of the salt: Collector of Excise to cancel bond.

John Gundry of Budock, yeoman, Charles Warren of Falmouth, excise officer, Edward Edwards, master, and Richard Martin, mate, of the barge 'The Industry' of Falmouth, took the oath. J.G. said that on 2 Aug. last he shipped from stock of John Thomas, fish curer, at Falmouth 750 bushels of British fishery salt to carry it to Cadgwith on account of John Randle, fish curer. E.E. and R.M. said that on 2 Aust. last they received on board 'The Industry' those 750 bushels of salt, sailing on 3 Aug., when they struck the Mannacle Rocks. The vessel sprang a leak, took in water, and some salt was lost. C.W. said that on 4 Aug. last he weighed the salt which amounted to only 141 bushels 21 lbs. E.E. and R.M. stated that the remaining 608 bushels 35lbs. was wholly lost: Collector of Excise to cancel bond.
