The file is separated into two items by Maxwell 1879: the journal of experiments (HY/1/13/1) and the measurements of glasses and other objects (HY/1/13/2).
It is enclosed in a covering page with a note written by William Snow Harris: "No 13 Electrical Experiments 1772 ["the object of these experiments is [illegible] in some cases [illegible] but would be arrived at in truth by some little patience & investigation" crossed out and replaced in another hand by "relating to some researches". There follows another line which has been crossed out. There is also a number 13 written in red pen at the top of the page and a pencil note at the bottom of the page "Measure Comparisions of Capacities ? M Measures 1 to 13".
