Africa, south coast: South Africa: Cape of Good Hope to Cape St Francis
'Chart of the South East’ Coast of Africa. Being a Chronometrical Survey from Cape of Good Hope to Algoa Bay'. Includes one inset and one view: 1) ‘Plan of the River Knysna on the SE [south east] Coast of Africa’. Scale: 5 inches to 1 nautical mile; 2) ‘Entrance to the River Knysna'. Chart, inset and view show coastline (only), hydrography, topography, settlements, buildings, land marks, remarks including current observations, explanatory key. Printed. Latitude and longitude indicated; north point with compass indicator; no scale shown. Surveyed by William Walker, Master, Royal Navy, His Majesty's Store Brig Dispatch, 1817 and 1818; engraved by John Bateman; published by James Horsburgh, Hydrographer to the Honourable East India Company, 1 December 1818. Stamped in red ink: 'Hydrographic Department Admiralty Original 28 October 1891'
