Copy letter. Matthew Robinson Boulton (Soho) to Charlotte Matthews [London].

Dear Madam,
In the hurry of our departure I forgot to request you would have the goodness to pay Mr. Sharpe (engraver, Charles Street, Middlesex Hospital) one hundred guineas, which you will please to charge to me in account with Boulton & Watt. As artists are not in general men of business or accurate accomptants, it may not be a superfluous precaution to have the money paid personally by Mr. Moseley or Woodward, who may get his receipt for it at the time of payment.
My father has, I suppose, informed you of our rencounter upon the road; we were prevented by it from reaching Soho the same evening, but contrived to overcome our laziness so far in the morning as to get there to breakfast. We found the ladies in good health and in seemingly in [Sic] as good spirits as I suppose a trio of forlorn single ladies living together can well be.
