These records were originally among the estate archives of the Praed family of Ousden Hall. They were bequesthed to the Ousden Parish Council under the will of the late A.H.M. Praed, 1952. They were listed by Mr Statham in 1958 in N.R.A report No 78. They were subsequently transferred to the incumbent who later deposited them in the Record Office.

T.J. Ireland received the manor and estate by the bequest of his uncle, Rev. J.T. Hand, in 1834. In 1864 the manor and estate were purchased by B.J.M. Praed from T.J. Ireland's executors.
