Memorial of the Worshipful Master, Wardens and members of the Country Stewards' Lodge, No. 449 presented to Grand Lodge referrring to the medal or jewel suspended by a green collar that members were permitted to wear by a resolution in the Quartlery Communications for 25 November 1789. This was rescinded at the Quarterly Communications in April 1797 without the consent or knowledge of the Country Stewards' Lodge. Lodge members ask that this resolution is reconsidered and the priviledge granted to wear the green collar and jewel is restored. Country Steward's Lodge was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge on 25 July 1789 and met as No. 540 at the Guildhall Coffee House, Gresham Street, London. In 1790 the Lodge moved to the Freemasons' Tavern, Great Queen Street, London. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 449 in 1792. The Lodge made its last payment in 1799 and lapsed about 1802.
