Appeal of Bathford, Somerset, against order of 15 December 1785 for removal of Samuel Wilton from Padstow to Bathford; evidence given that Samuel Wilton (48) was born in St Columb and, 19 years ago, hired himself to Mr Prideaux of Padstow at £8 p.a., and lived with him for 4 years, then going to Somerset and hiring himself as a coachman to Mr Lejay at Bathford at £10 10s. p.a., where he stayed nearly 11 months, then being dismissed after absconding for two days, although he returned and wished to complete a year's service: order confirmed; costs to Padstow.
