p.37 4 June 1868 copy of letter from clerk to the Guardians concerning an agreement with a hospital for smallpox cases to be moved there to prevent infection spreading, 'smallpox has for some time past been rife in Mortlake'. Richmond vestry has arrangement with Smallpox Hospital London (Upper Holloway) at a charge of £4 4s. per patient and cost of conveyance. Committee set up to enquire. [See also 2414/6/664] One of the committees proposed was to comprise three clergymen: viz 'Protestant' [ie. Church of England], Roman Catholic and Dissenting (named); three medical men (named) and three tradesmen (named). [See also 2414/6/670].
p.48 16 July 1868 duties of a vestry clerk, dispute as to serving of Vestry notices etc.
p.55 25 Sept 1868 copy of Notice of Kingston Highway Board concerning improvements to highways in Mortlake, including paving kerbing and channelling. Vestry opposed the scheme.
p.63 28 Dec 1868 copy of letter from Royal Society for the protection of life concerning provision of a fire escape.
