The Northleach Institute and Reading Room was constructed at the expense of Mrs. Elizabeth Stephenson of 14 Pemberton Gardens, London, and opened in 1886. The institute was registered as a charity in 1958, the premises were rebuilt in 1963-75, and the building is now known as Cotswold Hall.
