The donor is the headmistress of the school which was opened in 1879. To celebrate its centenary in 1979 Mrs. Higginson organised an exhibition of photographs and objects loaned by former pupils. The items here are part of that exhibition as well as a number of letters still in the school's possession. The school also has a number of old log books and attendance books of which the local Education Archivist is apparently aware.
