Hannah Funnell of West Firle; born at Newhaven and because her mother died when HF was 3 weeks old, she was put to nurse with her aunt Elizabeth Avis of Selmeston by the parish at 3s per week; when she was 15 years old she moved with her aunt to West Firle; after 1½ years the parish hired her to Mr Weller of Firle for a half year, she then hired herself to him at 3s per month for half a year; HF is now pregnant
