Referring to an enquiry from Taylor concerning the deposition of copper on printing rollers and enclosing a letter of introduction to Mr Siemen of Birmingham (inventor of the pendulum), the progress made in engraving 'our rollers' (enclosing specimens of the work), and asking him to bring copies of 'Josephus'. Also mentions the death of Sam. Thomson, a new method of arranging electric [? telegraph] wires patented by his brother, and the apointment of Prof. Scott of University College London as Principal of Owens College
