Custodial history

The documents, deposited with records accumulated by the Battle Historical Society, were purchased by Miss Robertson at a sale. Members of the Sprott family were deputy stewards of the manor during the early 19th century and the offices of Sprott & Sons of Mayfield, solicitors, are the probable source of these documents
