Description

Miscellaneous sixteenth century documents including: 1561-1592.

- Conveyance, 11 January 1574, by William Fleming of Rydal to Robert Bindloss of Helsington, father of Agnes, now wife of said William Fleming, of manor of Rydal, to secure marriage jointure of said Agnes;

- Articles of agreement, 14 May 1571 between John Benson of Langdaell and Mycheall Benson of Loughrigge and others, tenants of the said John Benson, of Baisbrown, Elterwater and Oickhow;

- Award and arbitration, 6 August 1589, between Henry Sands of Rottington, Cumberland esq. and James Sandes his natural brother;

- Bond in £10, [1] June [1580] of Thomas Middleton of Skirwith, to present his livery under the Great Seal and have it enrolled in the Court of Wards and Liveries;

- Livery with valor and extent, 28 October 1561, for lordships and manors inherited by William Fleming esq. from his cousin Hugh Fleming gent. deceased;

- Will, 3 February 1588 of Thomas Fleming of Coniston gent;

- Conveyance, 8 August [1568] John Vaughan esq. of Sutton upon Darwente, Yorks. and Dame Anne Knevett late wife of Sir Henry Knevett knight deceased and now wife of John Vaughan, and William Fleming of Coniston esq. of moiety of manor of Rydal and Loughrigg;

- Grant, 8 January 1592, William Fleming of Coniston and William Fleming one of his younger sons, to Charles Fleming of Weddacar gent, brother of William Fleming sen. of an annuity to secure the reversion of part of the manor of Weddacar and Boron lands [Cumberland].

- Lease, 22 July 1624, of tithes of Waddeybanck, Cumberland by John Fleming to Edmond Harper, John Harper sen. and John Harper jun.;

- Bond, 2 February 1649 for performance of covenants by Henry Veray;

- Releases of legacies (9) under the will of Agnes Fleming 1652-3;

- Note of John Banckes' account [c. 1672];

- A particular of debts owing to William Fleming at the time of his death 24 May 1653, a particular of personal estate of William Fleming and a computation of the yearly revenue of Daniel Fleming's estate in several places as now it is farmed;

- Copy of decree, with covering letter, 11 July [16]96 about Addington tithes suit;

- Warrant, 5 October 1659 for arrest of Anthony Pattinson, convicted on information of Thomas Gibson of exercising the art of a weaver without having served an apprenticeship, to appear at Quarter Sessions to pay damages;

- Royal warrant, 8 June [1661] about proclamation [Latin];

- Copy will of Paul Balle, of the parish of St Giles in the Fields Middlesex [French, with translation], 1722/3.
