Description

Very poor quality half-tone reproductions. The postcards are held together by a paper sleeve with a Tamil caption. They were produced by M. Bastiampillay, bookseller and wholesale stationer, Chuniculi, whose portrait and premises are featured on Print 1. The remaining postcards are a mixture of ethnographical and architectural views in Jaffna and include a Hindu yogi, the clocktower, a nautch girl, St Mary's Cathedral, Dutch Fort Church, a toddy tavern, Ridgeway Memorial Hall, courthouse, street scenes and local trades.
