430. Josiah Spode, Stoke-on-Trent (S). Aug. 1810, Mar., May 1811. 9 items.
36 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 30¾ inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.
Also drying stoves.Reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses and boilers; plan of the premises showing engine and boiler houses, flint mill, clay tempering house, colours and glaze mill etc., and section showing fly shaft; small sheet of notes on the level of the ground, heating stoves for the slip drying house etc.; note from John Murdock dated Soho Foundry, 15 Mar. 1811, saying that Spode's millwright says that they have followed the drawings exactly; original portfolio cover, with small sheet of notes and calculations on the cylinder, piston rod etc. dated Soho, 9 May 1811 stuck inside. The reverse drawings bear letter codes.

For Josiah Spode. Pottery manufactory, Stoke-on-Trent. Boulton Watt & Co. also supplied steam drying apparatus for the slip-drying house.
